Well seeing as I decided it was better to drop the bike than dice with a car while I was doing a U-turn last year, I have finally got around to looking at the cost of repair on the right hand upper fairing.
Some pics below can you guys have a look and give me opinions on the possible cost or repair?
DO we think this is repairable, how much £££?

looks like and easy ish repair job to me, but it is often difficult to judge going by photos.
If the plastic is not cracked then easy repaint, new graphics (if scuffed) and the job will be jobbed
if it is cracked then it will take a bit more work but still very achievable
also keep a look out for a replacement fairing on E- bay

I'd just replace the belly fairing and the oil res cover. Shouldn't break the bank.
Is the top pic the tank? Is it the tank or a plastic cover? What about bar ends, pegs and the rear?

New engine casing could probably be picked up for about £30 if you shop around...
Respraying the panel could be anything upwards of £100 so sourcing a new panel could be your best bet.
As Dave mentioned; Ebay is your friend for this one!

I found a fairing on ebay in Germany, I was just concerned about the colour matching.
I didn't think a new engine casing would be that cheap! I saw one for £115
meep, all the damage was put onto the right fairing as I put the bike down on my leg (on purpose) to save any major damage. I replaced the front brake lever on Monday and its good as new
I also had a tank bag on the bike but I think I took the brunt of the fall. I was lucky not to dent the tank.
250kgs is not that heavy

Yep, remember picking my 12R up like a scooter when it went for a tumble. Adrenaline gives you superhero like 'Danger' Powers. (unles your huff)Neorion wrote:

Only problem you may have with colour is the fade on your bike compared to new fairings but that's gonna be minimal.
Remember to check Breaking Point in Torry also as they can source for you too, esp for the casing.

Cheers Zax but mines a pre VTEC, I did have a scan and found one at breaking point but its damaged as well, shame though as it was only £20!
I called them up to ask if they had any fairings and the boy told me, nope?
Will keep hunting but I think I will get on from the bay when I get back and sell the old one
If anyone sees a red one going cheap cheap, let me know

Easy fix.
Check with the guy who painted Yamahahaha's YZFR6 from Cove about repairing the panel. If the engine case is only lightly scuffed it could be filled to hide any marks and painted.
