Indicator Dash Gremlins
Jumped on the bike this morning and let her warm up while changing over my tax disc etc.. once I got on the bike I realised the indicator lights on the dashboard where permanently on, I checked the psychical indicators and they worked without fault..
When I indicated right the dashboard light on the right hand started to blink as normal but when cancelled the dash returned to the permanently lit state..
I Rhode into work and it was no issue as it wasn't affecting the actual function of the indicator itself.. once I had reached my destination the dash lights had returned to their normal state...
I will keep an eye on this? but am a tad worried this might be a PCB fault.. anyone had any experiences similar?

Re: Indicator Dash Gremlins
Just checked the bike again and it the issues seems to be connected with the main beam switch.. when i turn on the lights (manual switch for lights) the indicator dash lights come on and don't turn off..
Really starting to think its a board problem. Arrrghhhhh!!! i loving hate electrics!!!

Re: Indicator Dash Gremlins
Could be a bad earth - pull it apart and check all the wire terminations and earth points.

Re: Indicator Dash Gremlins
sounds like bad connection somewhere, maybe even moisture getting in????
depends how electrically minded you are but as suggested expose all the wiring and have a right look at condition etc

Sounds like water and/or an earth problem to me.
If you're lucky, a good spray with WD40 may displace any water.

Not all the time. Sometimes I have to use a hoover due to the solids.Akrapovic wrote:Do you use this technique in your underpants Gazza?Gazza wrote:If you're lucky, a good spray with WD40 may displace any water.

Re: Indicator Dash Gremlins
Check your relays as well for the indicators and the headlights.
All it is is that somewhere a switch has been 'made' to power the lights on when they shouldn't be. You just have to find that 'switch', whether its the relays, bad earth (likely) or bad connections/shorts as mentioned before.
Vehicle electrics are a nightmare as the wiring is overly complicated for simple circuits and can make tracing them difficult. They usually switch on the negative side aswell, which is just wrong.
