How could you possibly require any extra luggage storage on the GS?

I am not planning on using the panniers unless I need to, plus a tank bag is great for maps, and having a camera at hand.

Many times I have stated that I try to use local shops when I can :2up , and often local shops can be less expensive that buying from the worldwideweb :2up

But sometimes shops just don't have the products that I am looking for :???

Yep, I used the SW Motech Sport tank bag with the quick lock system when I went to the Ulster GP the other week and it was great. Used to use a magnetic tank bag on the ER6f but the CBR has a plastic tank so had to invest in new luggage. Very quick to take off when refuelling and doesn't scratch your tank as held in place by the raised tank ring. The only difference between the original quick lock ring and the Evo is that the Evo ring is black instead of silver and is slightly lower than the original. I also bought the Cargobag tailpack which is great for supersports bikes, more streamline and doesn't move at all. Expensive stuff but, in my opinion, well worth it.

As I have changed my bikes since I started this thread, I thought I would as if anyone else has experience with tank bags ?

You could always buy the Yamaha tank bag and tank ring, it's SW Motech kit but matches the Tracer :biggrin2

I recently got the Kriega tank bib thingmy as I have a plastic tank. Works well with the US10 drybag, and doesn't look horrendous when left on the bike without the bag. Wee bit of a footer to attach the bag, but easy enough to pop off when at destination.

And it doesn't help when you can't find a strap and blame the visitor saying, "where's the strap Dave!?"

Especially when you left it under the pillion seat! :log
