Nice! :freebird

How are you finding it so far?

Panigale is about to get the kick... It's the most expensive bike i've ever bought and it's nowhere near the best so it's gotta go. :(

The V-Strom is fantastic so far! It really does seem like a much more up market bike than the Versys.

Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian), I'm surprised at that. I always found the SV's a nightmare to keep nice and always felt they were poorly built. That's why I've been keeping an eye open for a Versys. I really enjoyed the new v-strom I had out on test but ultimately decided against it cos of my experience. Have they improved the finish?

Time will tell!
The Versys is built to a similar budget so wasn't without its weak spots corrosion wise. The finish on the frame was not much to write home about.

The V-Strom cost me £5500 brand new so I'm not going to expect the same components as a £10k bike.

Riding them back to back, the Versys is a fantastic bike that handles well. Very supermoto like in it's ergonomics with an engine that likes to be ridden hard. However the nimble handling can also make it overy sensitive to imperfections in the road which makes it a bit tireing if you are not in the mood for it. Where as the V-Strom is far more relaxed and easier to live with at lower speeds. Less sensitive to imperfections in the road which is great then filtering. Overall it feels much more stable than the Versys with excellent wind protection and should be great on longer runs.

I will have to wait till it is run in to be able to give it some beans. But for a man of my years I don't want to be riding every where at full throttle and the early signs are that it will be a better two-up bike for heading out on runs with my daughter on the back.

P.S. The last Bandit I had (2000) model was one of the best bikes I've owned as far as corosion resistance goes so go figure.

The Monster had furred up fasteners after its first ride and that was a £10k bike.

New to the forum and area. Just took delivery of this at the weekend. Put the rc8 back as I had a lot of problems and picked up a 2014 Gay Blade.
