Depends where you live. If you're out in the countryside, anything 5mb download and above is decent. In town, where BT Infinity is much more available, 30mb-60mb isn't unusual. I'm not quite regretting moving house and away from 66mb to 6mb, but I would like to get something resembling that back. Roll on the roll out.

That was a big factor in me not moving house and building an extension instead. The places I was looking at didn't have fibre.

Fibre is available in most of the BOD now. Look out for a 2nd green equipment box local to your area. I went from 1mb to 40+mb switching over to fibre.

But when I rather pedantically ask them to download a 1 gig file in under a minute it is not possible... maybe I am not with the times but with I think about 40mbps download times i expect to get near 40mb per second?

Must be missing something really fundamental here...
