Tyres after my off

Post by DarrenR »

when i came off the bike the engine casing had cracked open and the front brake pipe came off slightly letting oil and brake fluid on my tyres. i was going to change them once the bike was back on the road but a couple of people have said theyd be alright as longs you took it easy for a few hundred miles.

since theyve only covered a couple hundred miles is worth changing them or will i keep them on?

Yeah! Will be fine treat them like you're running them in for the first 50 miles going little further over to the edge tire. Ride smooth and slow

Is it the insurance company sorting this for you...if so..new tyres without question!

Engine oil, if left on rubber will penetrate the surface and will compromise the grip. I would have thought it were better to be safe than sorry.
