Monoshock Spring Removal

Post by mt01 »

Hey all

I've got a monoshock unit that needs the spring replaced with an uprated lowered spring. Only problem is the spring compressors I have wont fit in between the spring coils. Does anyone have the facilities to remove and replace the spring. Its off a Yamaha MT-01. Can anyone help ? I'd obviously make it worth there while !

Thanks

Mark

It might be quite cheap to take the shocker to a bike shop and get them to change the spring. I took a McPherson strut with new spring to the local car garage and they charged me £5 for changing the spring.

When I changed the spring on the SV I just wound the preload all the way off, this was enough to fully de-compress the spring.
Not sure if this would work on your bike?

I think that may be the case here.
