Security Markings
Just wondered what kind of security marking everyone recommends. My last bike was datatagged and i'm thinkin about going for this again but have seen the alphadot and smart water ones and just wanna get some opinions.
Cheers.

Re: Security Markings
If you are doing it for insurance then the best thing is a Datatag kit, alphadot and smart water are no longer recognized as being a security deterrent but they will give you a discount for using Datatag
. Smartwater is no longer used by H>O>N>D>A now also.
I hope this is of help

I never had to pay any money yearly when it was on my old YZFR6. Is this a new thing?
Re: Security Markings
im sure i was asked for more money at every 18 months etc?? to be kept on the register?? but maybe depends on what policy or system you take out with them??graham1983 wrote:I never had to pay any money yearly when it was on my old YZFR6. Is this a new thing?

Re: Security Markings
with datatag you just have to pay to change owner on the bike if you have bought a second hand bike with it allready fitted and you can get free additional etchings (think thats what the number you put on panels are called excuse my ignorance )kamikazee wrote:thing is with datatag they want money off of ye every year. greedy bas*ards. i just never let my bikie out of eyeshot whilst out for blasts etc dont trust anyone parking next to it etc

Re: Security Markings
I got my R1 datatagged and alarmed. I dont really mind seeing the security marks and it is a deterrent to any potential theiving turd-bags that are taking a liking to my steed.
Regarding datatag subscription fees, I have been using them for years and never had to pay a fee, only the initial fitting fee.

Re: Security Markings
There is no subscription for the datatag marking system. You pay for the kit and register it at the time andthe only time you have to pay anything else is if you change the registered keeper of the bike.phatkat wrote:Any advance on 18 months?
