Re: Wheelies
I've only wheelied twice that i know off (dirt bike riding aside!!)
Once was coming off a junction at cluny on my last VFR, i gave it a handfull of throttle and a let go of clutch, and up she came, about a foot, came back down and vowed not to do again, mainly as it will eventually kill me, head bearing, chain etc.
The second time was a total accident (funny thought) was on the 675 demo and was just about to hand it back in, i was at a stop light by Frankensteins pub, and i stalled at the lights, started it again and pulled away, a bit enthusiastically as i didn't want to stall again, and up she came, got about a foot and a half for about a metre, in the main town centre!!
got a thumbs up from the white van driver behind me though
That bike made me laugh...a lot!

don't rev to hard when you drop the clutch for a wheelie or this might happen

Yep longer powerful bikes like the busa have a tendancy to spin the back wheel, however this can also turn into interesting rolling burnouts followed by a wheelie when the bike speed catches up with the wheel speed

Re: Wheelies
I found the best way to practice wheelies is on a Quad, you don't need to worry about side to side and can concentrate on getting comfortable on the balance point. worked for me, I do agree that power wheelies are much more controlled but my mate can hoist his R1 street fighter up off the clutch at 80-100mph.... each to there own...
