2010 Moto-Gp title now prety much over.

Post by Coddy »

Dani Pedrosa has broken his collarbone after a crash in practice for Sunday's Japanese MotoGP, all but handing the world title to Jorge Lorenzo.

The Repsol Honda rider suffered a multiple fracture of his left collarbone six minutes into practice at Motegi, his team's home circuit.

He is likely to miss three races which take place over consecutive weekends.

With him being Lorenzo's only serious title rival, that means the Fiat Yamaha rider has almost won the title already.

Pedrosa, 25, crashed after just two laps and was seen limping away from his bike.

"He is receiving treatment at the medical room inside the circuit," said a team spokesman.

Lorenzo leads the championship race by 56 points, with five races remaining.

He has been by far the most consistent rider in the competition, failing to finish on the podium in just one race so far this season.

But he has also benefitted from a broken leg sidelining team-mate Valentino Rossi and ending his world title chances, and now Pedrosa's misfortune too.
