Re: Broadband performance...what is yours like
Depends where you live. If you're out in the countryside, anything 5mb download and above is decent. In town, where BT Infinity is much more available, 30mb-60mb isn't unusual. I'm not quite regretting moving house and away from 66mb to 6mb, but I would like to get something resembling that back. Roll on the roll out.

I kid you not people.
Less than five miles, as the crow flies, from Aberdeen city centre.

Re: Broadband performance...what is yours like
That was a big factor in me not moving house and building an extension instead. The places I was looking at didn't have fibre.Yarek wrote:Depends where you live. Download speed 2.47mbs
Upload speed 1.1mbs
And it drops out a lot much to crankcase jnr's irritation when he's gaming,
Good enough but my laptop still has to think about it for a while before doing anything.
BOD. Where I am average speed is 2.76 mbs.
Pretty grim really.

Re: Broadband performance...what is yours like
Fibre is available in most of the BOD now. Look out for a 2nd green equipment box local to your area. I went from 1mb to 40+mb switching over to fibre.crankcase wrote:Download speed 2.47mbs

Re: Broadband performance...what is yours like
Is that a true 40? I have spoke to friends also upgraded to fiber and they tell me it is... But when I rather pedantically ask them to download a 1 gig file in under a minute it is not possible... maybe I am not with the times but with I think about 40mbps download times i expect to get near 40mb per second?
Must be missing something really fundamental here...

The difference of Mbps and MBps (bits and bytes) I think.

The transfer speed is megabits per second NOT megabytes.haiax0 wrote:Is that a true 40? I have spoke to friends also upgraded to fiber and they tell me it is...
