Unmarked Car
To the poor biker on the blue Triumph on the A90 just past Blackdog this morning at 7:15 who got nicked for speeding by the unmarked red Audi reg number SV12 DRO I share your pain! If only our brave boys in blue would put a fraction of this effort into catching little scrotes who steal peoples hard earned bikes and terrorise whole communities then the world would surely be a better place for everyone.

And of course when they do occasionally chase catch these scrotes, they are referred to as bikers rather than bike thieves.

Re: Unmarked Car
From reading the local rag over the past month or two the police seem to be making more of an effort to crack down on antisocial bike behaviour and of course related thefts. More tinks are being caught recently so it appears...but of course it is a constant battle for the police farce.
I would love to say everyone gets treated fairly by the police.. truth is the more civilised human beings are easy to catch over the tinks and are generally of an age where they can be prosecuted. Any one who is breaking the law should be held accountable for there actions regardless of what else is going on in the world.
Everyone breaking the law knows the score.. no one has a free pass, not even the minks.

Doing triple figures on the A90...... You almost deserve to get caught!Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) wrote:https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/new ... hree-days/

Re: Unmarked Car
On bigger bikes it's very very easy to hit three figures when overtaking. Either the cops were being sneaky or the biker wasn't looking ahead far enough.

Oh for sure, but popular roads aren't the place to be nailing it.

They are if you're overtaking. Or are you suggesting we should overtake slowly?willian wrote:Oh for sure, but popular roads aren't the place to be nailing it.
I'm assuming the guy was actually overtaking and not on a mission at warp 9... Big difference.

Re: Unmarked Car
Such an easy thing to saywillian wrote:Oh for sure, but popular roads aren't the place to be nailing it.
As inferred by others: when overtaking safely, by reducing the time spent on the other side of the road sometimes one may crack the throttle open while looking at the road for debris and pot holes, the traffic you are overtaking, the road ahead etc...but not look at your speed dial...so on certain bikes you may sneak into triple figures with realising this.
I am not saying this is what happened, but it is so easy to do (I believe going by what others have said, and I would never encourage the breaking of the speed limits)

Re: Unmarked Car
If it's not safe to overtake safely then don't do it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saint but there's a place to do triple figures and it's not a main trunk road where the dribbles are known to frequent.
If I ever get nicked for speeding I won't be complaining about it.

Re: Unmarked Car
According to the local papers today:
'Officers have seized 81 motorcycles over the summer with 62 people being charged for associated offences, without having to engage in pursuits.
The period has also seen 42 stolen motorcycles returned to their owners.'
I hope these figures are unchallengeable and true. Maybe they might even change some peoples perceptions about the police and the work they are doing to address issues in the 2 wheeled world.
