Malaysian MotoGP tonight.
Valentino Rossi vs Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez, Pedrosa and Ianonne in the mix. Last week there were 52 overtaking manoeuvres amongst the top 4.

Well, that championship is ruined. Totally not agree with Rossi's punishment.

Yeah, watched it a few times over, Rossi didn't cause the crash, Marquez quite clearly barged into Rossi's leg. Yes Rossi as holding a hard line but he didn't cause the contact.
At Valencia I'd be letting Rossi through the pack at the start to get a crack at catching up to the front row.

It will certainly identify the riders who sympathise with Rossi if they pull in to the side and let him through.willian wrote:At Valencia I'd be letting Rossi through the pack at the start to get a crack at catching up to the front row.

Whether he's let through or as I suspect cuts through the pack quickly, the pointy end well be up the road and out of sight by the time he gets there.

I'm not a Rossi 'fan' as it's the quality of racing that I like - I do think the penalty is harsh IMO and Marquez is fast fast fast and IMO was employing 'fishing' tactics to keep Rossi busy, there's so much historical banter and action between the two of them I think he definitely got a 'bite' I can't believe it's not butter!
I don't Rossihe helped his case by being so open in the interviews, although I think the interview may have been afterwards?
He is the GOAT I think, for his age and record I don't think this incident has sullied it, he didn't drive into Marquez, Marquez drove and leant into Rossi (my interpretation anyways)
I hope the 'racers' in the pack give him a break and let him through easily so at least there's a possible fight.
Lets hope for rain in Spain for a tight race and maintain the spectacle I can't believe it's not butter!

Re: Malaysian MotoGP tonight.
Marc has done his popularity no good whatsoever. People will not forget and you can expect to hear lots of boos on future podiums for him (possibly even in Spain).
He clearly had it in him to spoil Vale's race and championship hopes. He was much faster than Lorenzo in Australia, but spent almost the entire race slowing down Vale. Twice he caught Lorenzo with ease. The first time he dropped back again to slow down Vale, the second time was the 'amazing' last lap.... which demonstrated how easily he could have diced with Jorge had he wanted to.
In Malaysia he was on the same pace as Pedrosa until he saw Jorge behind him. He immediately made a 'mistake', running wide to let Jorge through and then went about spoiling Vale's race.
What Rossi did by pushing him wide is not against the rules, a defensive lined is allowed if you lead and have the inside line. Watch the race again and you'll see Marc do it to Vale earlier on at turn 4. The FIM and stewards said that what Rossi did was not in the spirit of racing.... Well neither were the actions of Marc to deliberately spoil a championship.
The fans won't forget easily and Marc will regret the loss of his popularity for spoiling what was one of the best championship for years for his own childish reasons. He needs to remember who pays his wages. Vale may have responded, but he had a championship to lose. Marc had nothing to lose and instigated this whole issue, starting in Australia. I hate cheats. He's a fantastic rider, but I hope he continues to lose championships through poor judgement.

Re: Malaysian MotoGP tonight.
There is an article on the MCN website saying that Repsol are reconsidering their sponsorship and siting the incident at the weekend as the reason.
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/mot ... a-sponsor/
I personally think that them rethinking their sponsorship has more to do with the current climate in the global oil industry than any on track incident.
It's Danni and his team I feel sorry for if it does happen. He is one of the best riders never to have won the championship in my opinion.

Re: Malaysian MotoGP tonight.
I remember this incident from earlier in the season and was very surprised nothing was said further about it at the time. It could have been pretty serious had Bautista not notice straight waway that his brakes were gone.

Valentino Rossi appeals FIM Stewards’ decision
http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2015/10/3 ... ion/188688
Note that Vale is also seeking the annulment of the penalty for a stay of execution until after Valencia. If he wins that then the decision is made after the Valencia race and would not affect his 2015 championship. It would roll over to the first race next year.

Re: Malaysian MotoGP tonight.
I would say he trying everything to win this championship. As he said earlier, Rossi's three points and start from back of the grid, is not harsh enough. I presume he just want to have his say at this dispute.
