Helmet off
Made a stop at sainsbury petrol station at garthdee last Sunday on my way to bike show. Put nozzle in tank and got the announcement to take my helmet off. I have a schuberth flip face and it was open so I looked at him and raised my arms as if to say what the fook and he announced again so I threw nozzle down and gave him a few hand gestures and went across the road to asda and filled up without Even lifting my flip front. Sainesbury won't be getting anymore of my business be it shopping or fuel for car or bike.

Good for you, I'd do the same if presented with the same scenario, I also have the Schuberth lid.

Re: Helmet off
Go back there to refuel next time. When asked, take off the helmet.
Underneath the helmet, make sure you're wearing a burka or niqab.

Re: Helmet off
Not had that in Aberdeen yet but my helmet doesn't flip up so I tend to take it off. Tesco pay at pump is the way to go, they don't care.

Re: Helmet off
After legally filling your tank with said burka on, go and pay your bill with a bagful of coins. Whilst there are limits to what is acceptable as legal tender, you can do the first £10 quid in 20p pieces and the rest with £1 coins. In fact you can pay any amount you like with £1 coins.

Let's say the bill is £20. Empty the bag over the desk - £9.60 worth of 20p's and £10 of £1 coins. When they've counted it all out and tell you you're 40p short. Smile, apologise and give them your credit card. Collect up said coins for future use, cheerfully tell them to have a nice day and you'll see them next week.

I would go with £5 worth of 5p's, another £5 of 10p's and tenner of 20p's. And take a few coins of each lot.Gazza wrote:After legally filling your tank with said burka on, go and pay your bill with a bagful of coins. Lots of bikers do wear buffs underneath their helmets...Gazza wrote:Go back there to refuel next time. When asked, take off the helmet.

Yes, but you'd get asked to remove that too. A burka is allowed to stay on.aisgsimon wrote:Lots of bikers do wear buffs underneath their helmets...Gazza wrote:Go back there to refuel next time. When asked, take off the helmet.

Re: Helmet off
Not enough people ride bikes to understand the ludicrous recommendations that required by the fuel stations
