Electric fault finding-where to start

So i bought my first multi meter to try and assess my the loving bike wont do anything with the ignition on.

So far I have:
Cleaned terminals with sand paper
Checked battery voltage
Looks like I have continuity on all relevant ignition pins when on.
Tried a few grounds here and there

any other advice?

Im looking to check the starter solenoid next, im lead to believe a screwdriver is the appropriate tool for this bypass...

I'd have a few beers available for anyone who was passing by king street and could point me in some kind of direction with some advice since ive not the slightest clue about electrics (though the continuity beep is rather fun on the multimeter!) Trying to avoid taking it to a mechanic.//however this may be a last resort-in which case id be asking if anyone has a ramp i could borrow for a day...
