bandit brake discs

Post by rasmie »

Hi

Passed my the last October, and got a 03 bandit 600. Had lots of fun since, and getting more since the better weather arrived. Some time soon I'll meet up with a ride out.

The bike passed its MOT the other week, but with the recommendation of new discs all round. Shirlaws quoted around £300 (parts) for all 3. My question is is there cheaper to be found on the net, and if so where is good (or elsewhere in town, and are all pattern parts the same quality as OEM?

Thanks

If that price includes VAT then it sounds ok to me.

Quite funny though cause I had mine MOT there a couple of weeks ago and guess what mine would need at some point as well!

Think I'll be looking at a set of ProLites myself. I had them on the Firestorm and they were excellent.

Thanks for the help.

Haven't really got the feel of the bike yet to be honest. Difficult to know what is good, bad or just plain normal when you've only got 1500 miles under the belt. I'll check out prolites tho.

You'll get a set for £255 ish from

http://www.thefastone.co.uk/

Not sure what they charge for P+P though as it's been a while since I've used them.

I personally wouldn't recommend 2nd hand disks.

Give BFM a call and see what price they can do you, don't forget to mention where you were told about them- http://www.bfmscotland.co.uk/catalog/

I guess you've got to be a member of Aberdeenbikers to get discount from them.

Speaking of membership Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) I tried the link on the membership thread in archive to find out more about joining and it doesn't work.
Could you post up details ?
