a quick shifter

I never thought I would need a quick shifter, now after a month with one on the S1000R, I don’t know how I ever survived without one

A quickshifter would have been no use to me on Friday the couple of times I held a gear too long and the rev limiter. You still need to remember and change gear!

...biking, the peace and quiet of being on the bike, the phone is always switched off, no radio or satnav sounds, just concentrating on the road and surroundings and listening to the sound of the engine.

(I just thought I would say this in case anyone was in doubt over my vehicle choice )

Rural Scottish roads.

Having lived overseas for the last 9 years, a trip to Scotland last summer reminded me exactly how good they are. No speed cameras every 3 miles, corners, a distinct lack of traffic and the occasional overtaking manoeuvre to do. Wonderful.

When you respond to them in a positive and chirpy manner, often you can sense their inner pain and resolve not to show happiness or any glint of pleasure...which drives me on to farce then to smile or make some sort of positive response.

The subject matter is often the lack of biking weather to their liking, quoting similar text: "it's too cold , it's too windy , it's too wet "

My response:
Bollox, it is always good biking weather, all you need it the right kit on your person and bike

Road Ragers

I absolutely love them. The more angry they get the better. I just smile and wave at them. Not only are they incensed that you did something to annoy them, now you've shown them that you don't give a f*ck.

Spring time...

The birds as a chirping...
The flowers are a blooming...
All the snow and ice have gone...
The sun is out and the temperature is toasty...

But in the NE of Scotland, only the last line is true, almost, it was a tropical 7 deg C this morning

...the way a topics can change on a relativity simple subject..ie from speeding, to using neds for minefield clearance, to the police running down homeless people.

... being back onthe bike for the first sime since November!!
