Some Dumb ring piece cage driver in front of you slowing down for a green light then slamming on his brakes at amber and coming to a stop about 2 foot over the white line. Me not expecting this standing on the back brake wheel locks up & I slide side way's towards his back bumper. Managed to get back on the power & round to the left hand side of his car before I smacked into the back of it side ways!! ring piece Wipe!! :angryfire

Did you see them turning green so had some sort of idea how long they had been green? If you were approaching them at green already then it is only natural to anticipate that they could change at any moment so you prepare for that eventuality. I guess all those ££'s of lessons haven't really paid off or did you do those out on country roads where you assume the dangers are greater?

Folk seem to get lulled into a false sense of security riding in town as the speeds are lower but there are so many more things to be watching out for and other road users you are exposed to more danger. We really need to be looking out for our selves and not expect other road users to do that for us so don't go putting yourself in danger then blaming someone else.

If you weren't able to stop in time when the vehicle in front hit the anchors then you were riding too close. End of story, regardless of what they were stopping for.

shizzle i find i agree with Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) :angryfire

yes it does sound like the driver was being cautious then maybe ballsed up when they stopped but does sound like you were too close to allow for that.

am i right in thinking if the car wasnt there you would have gone through on the yellow and not stopped as you should do? again not the safest move in the world

as i posted elsewhere this is a common thing for bikers being too close to cars etc, we all do or have done it. most get away with it, like you did here, some however dont and we read about them in the papers! :(

dont think im having a go at you, count yourself a lucky boy, learn and move on.

I like the saying "if you were in my shoes"

It was a case of yes you had to be there I can blame who ever I want as you were not there I was doing about 10mph so it was not a big drama But I'll let you moan at me and say I'm a bad rider etc.

But what I will say was I was 1/2 expecting it I did manage to stop no problem just gave me a fright thats all sorry for saying it bloody annoyed me !! :nono

.... Old men that have noting better to do than pick at young good looking in experienced riders :tung

for your info I was 1/2 expecting I was trailing my back brake hence the reason why my back wheel lock up when ithe car stopped over the white line. May have streached the truth a bit about going side ways but he was still a jester for stopping with a jolt when he had crossed the line! Must not bite anymore must not bite anymore

Locking up your wheel would be viewed as a loss of control ...... unless you meant it in which case it would be cool! :freebird
