You can buy exactly the same stuff as wonderweb matting in the pound shop its for kitchens/drawers as stated before, it comes in a roll about 500mm wide by about 1 or 2 metres long so well worth the pound, you get far more than the wonder web that bike shops sell, and its available in different colours to...i think wonderweb just comes in kack brown or green

I clart the back of the bike with insulating tape to stop the bungees touching the paintwork at all.
The only problem with towels or the drawer stuff is that small stones can get inbetween the towel and paint and dull the surface.

Only problem with that, the adhesive on the tape is stronger than the paint bond on the K6 and K7 Gixxers and the paint is softer than chewing gum.
