I have in the past going to the TT, taken the A7 (great road) then instead of going on the motorway, use the old A6. It follows the M6 most of the way and is dead quiet traffic wise.

Here some info on campsites etc if anyone is struggling for accommodation because i know I am.this one is about 3 mile from Douglas-www.glenloughcampsite.com(Glenlough) and
www.caravancampingsites.co.uk(Glen Dhoo, taxis will come all way up) for £8 pppn you can also hire equipment and tents at reasonable price
http://www.iomtents.com is £20 pn for tent and equipment hire. i really think of these options are a good price glenough and Glen Dhoo also has mobile charging facilities, So basically £30 PPPN. PM me if your interested or need more info, also b+bs are in large demand by looks of it! iom website isnt confirming any known availability but e-mailed them all pretty much. I will try and update you all as I know myself
