After a little incident last week the caliper on my race bike (Beringer 6 pot) the top bolt bracket was half torn out. With these things costing £350+ each I would like to look into possible repair.
Does anyone know local company that could possible "build up" the bracket and rethread the hole?
Not sure on exact mtl spec. Ive got another but it would be good to try and fix.

I agree, also the farce involved to tear out the mounting may have damaged the material in ways you can't see.
With the possibility of failure of a pretty major component I'd just replace it.

Cast you say, not on my bike sir and at £400 a pop I would hope not. There machined from solid billets.

Ive got another one so it not major. Sorry dont have any photos but it the lug with the threaded hole that attaches the fork lower bracket.
Might just dis-assemble and use a nice door stop.

Is it the bottom of the fork leg or the plate that connects the calliper to the fork lower?

My option won't work cos it'll be cast....apparently.

If it's machined from solid billet and you can find out exactly what it's made of, welding would be possible.
There might even be couple of people on here that could inspect it for defects after

That procedure is usually carried out in the pub
Think you'll be fine there though.

I got a wee bit of alloy welded at James Aiken Sheetmetal down at the harbour. Not sure if they would do it at the level you would want. Can't hurt to ask.
