OK thinking of Hiring a van to take my bike down for the track day on the 23rd July
I will only need to from about 2 in afternoon till 9 at night (latest & Earliest times)
Couple of questions:
1) Where is the cheapest place to hire a van?
2) What size of Van will I require?
3) Any other equipment needed for transport ie ramp, straps etc??
Any help would be great cheers in advance

1) Where is the cheapest place to hire a van?........ 1car1.com at the arches is cheap and no mileage charge
2) What size of Van will I require?..... transit. no smaller
3) Any other equipment needed for transport ie ramp, straps etc??....yes you will need a ramp, paddock stand, tools and 3 straps for tying your bike in the van

I hired a van to move my bike recently, Cheapest place i found was SIXT, just past the haddigan roundabout.
I hired a transit, cant go wrong with one of them! You could go a bit smaller but will make getting it in and out alot harder.
You will need a ramp (i just used a big plank of wood and some blocks under it so it didnt break). I bought some ratchet straps from b&q - they do ones specifically for bikes and was very impressed with them. They are very simple to attach - one hook around each handlebar, compress front forks and another hook around floor of van. Its just a matter of tightening the straps and the bike wont budge an inch!
I drove it about 250 miles, alot on single track roads, and even down a hill in the snow (talk about scary!!)
Good luck

Best with high roof van if possible. Watch with padock stands as they are on wheels .When braking or accelerating the bike can move on the stand.
Try and get van with lashing rings on floor to strap bikes to.
If possible put bike on centre stand and cable tie front brake in the on position.

www.1car1.com as suggested. £30 a day for a MWB van which you'll easily get 2 bikes in side by side.

I normally use Ellon van hire as they are local and I can drop off the keys whenever never a problem.
bit be a bit too far for you though.
When I took the new bike up from Luton I used 1car1 and the service was great.
£80 for a 1 way hire with no milage charge I put over 580 miles on it in 24 hrs.
Since you are in town I would use them.
Get a 24h hire as it saves on rushing to pack the bikes , kit fuel etc on teh day and it saves rushing back at night unpacking then returning the van.
2 bikes will go in a Vauxhaul vivaro with loads of room to spare and they drive great .
You can squeeze 3 bikes into a transit but it can ba a pita,

No.
For two bikes you're looking at a SWB Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Traffic, LDV Maxus, VW Transporter and some other stuff I can't think of right now.

I think the trailor would be easier to get both bikes on & off so I'll phone round some hire companies today to see if they have any cars with tow bars!!

Be prepared to spend more time looking at the bikes in your rear-view mirror than looking at the road.

as far as im aware there is no place in aberdeen that hires out cars with tow bars on them. just get a transit van. a lot simpler.
