Rd4 + Endurance race

Post by coullstar »

We will be having round 4 on Sat 2nd August with the David Blair Memorial Endurnace race on the Sunday.

This event is being run in memory of David (Gengy) Blair who was the instigator of Motard mag and someone who was very keen to see Supermoto progress forward in the UK. He sadly died in 2006 after a battle with cancer. The event will be a team event over 3hrs with most laps winning.

As part of the fund raising we will be auctioning off some good prices including a pair of weekend passes to Knockhill BSB with KTM hospitality.

Its a more relaxed event and a perfect oppourtunity to have a go if you have access to a bike.

Right oh, I am trying to get some more interest in this and was wondering if any of you lot might be interested in competing.

Plan would be to use my bike but we would need to give it a break between turns as I dont think it would last the 3hrs. Very slim chance of winning in any case as theres a team with two good ex-motox guys who are fit as hell.

Cost per team is £100 and you can have upto 3 people in the team. We will only be running the short dirt section so dont worry too much about that, its hard packed anyway so pretty grippy.

Used to ride offroad when I was wee(er), had a KX250 before it was nicked :angryfire

No idea if i'd be any good on the dirt now, waaay to used to tarmac!

If nobody else is up for this, I could give it a bash!

Definately try Zax, Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian), Mal and co first though, sure they'd do a better job :2up

Just looking for interest right now. If there one of the regular guys on his own then I'll just team up with him. If thats the case I could still let someone else have a shot as a team of three, at least then my bike will get a decent break.

As I said dont worry too much about dirt its only about 30m in length with one small table top jump.

Yes zip together 2 piece is fine. Normal road riding kit is generally ok but sturdier boots would be recommeneded.

I'd be up for that if I can get hold of some boots before then. :freebird

If you want a bike that will run for 3 hours without a break then may I suggest the you use Mal's XT!! :arse

If Graeme stays off the bike you might stand a good chance of completing the 3 hours! ;)

Got Friday off so I might be heading down to the track. If you guys are off it might be a good chance to have a go before the 3rd. Should only be me and one or two others.

Mal / Zax - Just to let you know the money raised was £1380 and it has gone towards the Heart of Fife riding group that offer disabled kids the oppourtunity to ride horses in a controlled environment.

They were needing a hoist for the kids so our money is going to that.

I am still impressed that we were not last as even with broken ribs you were lapping faster in your last stint than you did in the middle one :worthy
