Sidecar driver Steve Norbury passed away last night after sustaining injuries in a crash in an F1 sidecar race at Hockenheim yesterday

his passenger Rick Long also sustained serious injuries although the full extent of them hasnt been officially released to my knowledge

i would like to pass on my heartfelt condolences to Steves family and loved ones at this sad time

Steve was a regular top 10 finisher at the TT in recent years an im sure all TT fans and the sidecar paddock will miss him immensly

rest in peace Steve

best wishes to Rick Long for a full and speedy recovery

On sunday i lost a close friend and a true legend in sidecar racing. My heart goes out to Jim and Family and Sally, steves grilfriend. Steve was a professional at his racing but at the same time he could have a laugh and a joke with the people around him. He was always willing to help out and he was the reason Dougie my big bro finished the TT this year after Steve leant us a fuel tank.
He is gunna be one hell of a missed guy.
RIP Steve, never forgotton matey.

Heart also goes out to the closest person ive got to a dad, Rick Long. Ricky has smashed legs and injuries to his knees, he is in hospital in Germany and his legs have been plated and pinned. He is expected to make a full recovery. Love you Rick keep smiling darlin xxx
