Sidecar duo Nick Crowe and Mark Cox who were airlifted to hospital on Wednesday are being treated in hospital for serious fractures.

Manx driver Nick Crowe is reportedly stable with serious fractures while passenger Mark Cox is going to theatre for treatment on his injuries.

The crash happened at Ballacob, on the approach to Ballaugh Bridge.

The outfit caught fire and the race was red flagged to allow the incident to be dealt with by the emergency services. Last year Crowe and Cox completed a sidecar TT double

A further update may be provided on the morning of Friday 12 June.

Local riders Dan Kneen and Gary Carswell as well as Japanese rider Yoshinari Matsushita are all described as comfortable following incidents earlier in the week.
