BSB: SMT Honda in cash crisis

SMT HONDA - the team running Honda Fireblades in this year's BSB championship - may pull the plug after hitting a financial wall at Knockhill.
Team boss Robin Croft said: “It's almost an impossible position we are finding ourselves in. So far this year I have been funding the racing myself because we just haven't been able to secure a title sponsor and whilst I love my racing I can't let my business run into debt for it because we employ a lot of people and it wouldn't be fair on them.
“Unless we find a title sponsor I think it's going to be increasingly hard for us to continue.â€
Which is a real shame because the SMT squad are consistently amongst the high-budget, factory-backed teams.
