GEARLINK KAWASAKI – SEASON FINALE – OULTON PARK
Having won the 125cc Academy Cup for the second successive year, Tim “Twister†Hastings is to join Gearlink Kawasaki for the final round of the Metzeler Superstock 600 championship where he will ride Jamie Hamilton’s championship winning Ninja ZX-6R. He tested with the team on Friday and although it was his first venture on the 600 machine he put in some strong lap times.
Tim, who celebrates his 17th birthday on Friday is the only rider to secure back to back wins in the British 125cc Academy Cup where, having won the series in 2008 he has already accrued sufficient points to win the Cup again this season and is currently placed fifth in the full British 125cc Championship.

I am completely made up to be riding for Gearlink Kawasaki in the Superstock 600 race at Oulton Park. I tested with the team on Friday and everything went really well .I instantly gelled with the team and was helped on the day by Ben Wilson who gave me some valuable advice on set up etc. There is no pressure on me for the race and I will just go out there and enjoy the experience to see how I fare.

Tim Hastings will be riding the Superstock 600 bike at Oulton Park and although this will be the first time that he has competed on a 600cc machine I think he will be more than able to hold his own in this very competitive class.
Free practice and qualifying take place on Friday and Saturday, prior to the final round of the Superstock 600 championship that will run over 12 laps of the 2.269-mile Cheshire circuit starting at 1.05pm on Sunday.
