Ive been thinking of doing some sort of advanced rider training for a while. My parents were wanting to know what to get me for xmas so thought it would be a perfect gift (keeps 'em happy too!).

So Ive been looking around on the net but would appreciate opinions on which course / company to go for...
I am happy to travel (anywhere within scotland) and would rather do it on my own bike. I am looking to improve my riding skill as I am not as confident as I would like, despite having been riding for 10 years. My current bike is my first sport bike and I would really like to corner better on it....

Opinions, good or bad appreciated

Keith is nicknamed 'sticky' - says it all really. I did about 9 hrs with him last year and about 6 this year. Really knows his stuff. he's no slouch out on the road with you either!

Yeah I've been looking into that bikesafe as well.
looks good, but can't confirm to a date at the moment.

Bikesafe is a good starting point but is not a training course - only offers assessed rides with advice. No radios are used and limited learning time on the road. No time is spent on reading corners, positioning etc. because of limited time and lack of trained instructors (police) leading the ride outs.

However, mechanical and first aid in put is good.

Yes, I'm up for this pretty much anytime after 16th April. Does the guy charge per h,r per day whats the set up.

I am still looking at doing this and would be up for a group session. However I am stuck in Tunisia for god knows how long so no idea of what dates would suit. If there is one going when I get back with spaces left I will see about coming along.

I'd be up for some group lessons if theres anyone else going for it?

The most you would want are two pupils to one instructor.

I would be interested in this. As Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) says, probably better only a couple at a time as he an only observe so many on a run. Has anyone enquired about prices and availability?

I believe that Ratz is carrying out critiques of peoples riding for free at the moment!

It's been a few years since I did it, but Keith Henderson works in a two per session method and is very good
Gonna give him a call about current prices and availability as I need a refresher

Keith works at around 25 pounds an hour. you will have to ask him to get exact prices

Anyone up for a few hours training then? Im open for a few options with regards to timings, either evenings or weekends. Hopefully get someone with the same riding experiace as me(not much) so Im not holding anyone back!!

I'd be up for a few hours training. I'm from Turriff, so not too far away. I've been riding for about 2 years (5k miles), but still consider myself a complete nubile.

Weekends or evenings would work for me, but would probably prefer a longer session at the weekend. (Couple of half days maybe?)
