Keis Heated Vest - Hein Gericke

Hein Gericke
Got a heated vest the other day from Hein Gericke, made by Keis
The initial thoughts are great...and why did I not get one years ago
It had my thinking of heated grips...once you start to use then, it is hard to think of running a bike in cold wet weather without them.
The Vest has three settings, had it on medium last night and it was about right.
This was riding thru a little bit if sleet and a lot of snow.
Yesterday morning I had it on low, it was plenty warm enough thru the cold (-2 deg C), but it was dry.
The vest had a lead which hard wires into the bike, with a quick connector to attach to the vest.
I got a lead to run off the aux power outlet, which doesn’t look the best, but is a quick easy way to start using the vest.
If you get one, make sure you leave enough slack in the lead in case you stand up on the pegs.
Luckily I had the slack tucked under my tank bag adapter which is fixed to my bike, so when I stood up to go over a bit of rough ground, it just pulled out easily.
That was luck, as I just connected the electrical lead when I was sitting on the bike, not thinking of when I stand on the pegs.
One of the great things about getting the aux lead is, it also fits into a cigar/cigarette lighter, so I can use this vest in the old Landrover...great...but I think I will get grief from the misses when I am sitting there all toasty hot for the first 100 or so miles until the Landie heater gets working
