Spray Paints

I'm about to attempt a home spray job on my race fairings.

Where is the best place to get suitable aerosol spray paints?

Halfords is as good as any if u want out of a tin. there is a car place on george street, not far from McGowans that do car specific two-pac paints as well.

Also checkpoint on George street.

For a professional finish, RS Paints do colour match paint for most (if not all?) bikes in aerosol spray. Much cheaper and better finish if you have or borrow a spray gun 01226 241126.

Make sure you use the proper undercoat for plastic.

If it is only race fairings then any old shizzle will be good enuf.

Bob's right, for a road bike you need to use the correct type of paint and prime that will be slightly flexible when dry to prevent cracking & peeling.

Af for a race fairing I agree with bob. Any old shizzle will do

Ive used Halfords own brand paint.

Sand, prime it a couple of light coats, sand, paint, sand lightly, paint, and then lacquer. The lacquer gives it a bit of a tougher finish.

Do it outside on a dry day and overspray the grass (preferable), or create a paint booth inside from 4 pieces of plastic sheeting. Stops the overspray over the rest of your garage.

Remember and use a mask. Stinky sh*t this painting lark.
