Chain Kit Advice

Just had the VIffer in for a service and it was noticed the chain tensioner / retaining system has seen better days..
I have been advised to get this worked (lubed, cleaned if it wil permit) if not replace etc... At present the chain is tightened and is no issue but its is forseen that it will become one.
To get this resolved at a local dealer im getting quoted at over 500 for parts and labour
Any recommendations of any local places that would do this for cheaper prices? If i was to buy a new chain set myself is it best to go OEM and avoid cheaper alternatives??
