i am needing to pick the brains of all you motorycle masterminds out there.
i have a 2002 triumph TT and twice now when in town the throttle seems to what i would call stick.
dont get me wrong its not the throttle or the cabble but if you blip the throttle the engine just sticks at what ever rpm you blipped it to and the only way to get it back down is to put on the brakes as if trying to stall it.
any hints would be much appreciated
(when it has happend it has been after i have done rufly 90 miles out of a tank but is always in town when the engine is roasting don't know if this has anything to do with it).

Sounds like either an ecu problem or a sticky throttle position sensor. Check the sensor first though.

Check your throttle cable isn't routed through any tight bends. Oil it too.

Sorry to disappoint but Buzz has never owned a TT600 or ANY other bike, they actually all belong to me along with all his other gadgets
The problem could well be the same one I had. There is a problem with the actual throttle grip, there's a small black peice of plastic that can stick when accelerating. Suggest you take the grip off & check this, but be careful as its very delicate & can break easily (I know as Buzz did this during one of his many offs!!

).
Failing that Ive no idea other than take it to the garage - sorry

It could be the twistgrip. The black plastic innards can get worn and the grip travels further than it should and sticks. It's dead easy to dismantle it and have a look.

That piece of plastic in the throttle grip sounds like it may be the likely candidate .
When I had a go on this bike last week it behaved itself . no glitches or anything .
Might just be down to operator error ..( Ham fisted Spanner monkey )

thanks
