Impromptu west coast visits tend to bring out the best weather

A stunning day, great company, even if someone forgot their bike and too a car…well almost a car, it did have four tyres that were in touch with the ground (most of the time)
There was masses of traffic from Pitlochry to Fort William

Less painful to get out of than the bike at the end of a long run
Not great for forward visibility though, the curvature of the earth is enough to block forward view

Left home this morning, it was a cold & wet 10 degrees with a sea mist. When I returned home it was a cold & wet 10 degrees with a sea mist. In between, I rode through a sunny Dunked then Killin and had a fish and chip lunch outdoors on the quayside at Oban. The run home was via Ballachulish, Glen Coe ( at 22 degrees), Loch Earn and Perth. 340 lovely miles. I feel that I might almost be fighting fit for a wee run to Estergom and back in July to attend the WIMA International Rally.

I had a wee run up to Inverness on Saturday to test ride a GS. It was such a lovely day I ended up heading back via Loch Carron, Eilean Donan Castle, Invergarry, Spean Bridge, fish'n'chips in Aviemore then up over the lecht again and then home.
I had to stop at Eilean Donan Castle to take the liners out of my kit as it was roasting (when I left Aberdeen it was foggy, damp and cold).
I think it was around 390 miles not including the test ride. Fantastic weather and roads.
