I like to shoot, and visit America on numerous occasions and had the benefit of their 2nd amendment but they are plain wired up the wrong way.
The place is a melting pot of disaster waiting to happen, and the only way they think it can be worked out is by carrying guns.
There will be a major unrest incident where large amounts of folk are blasting at each other for a protracted period of time.

I also like shooting but American gun laws are nonsensical. More guns = more death, it's a pretty simple equation.

I visited Texas with a few mates about 8 years ago and made full use of their stupidity.

We rocked up at a firing range and told the guys behind the counter that we were Scottish and were interested in shooting some guns. 10 minutes later we were given an AR-15, a couple revolvers, a Glock, a Desert Eagle and enough ammo to murder everyone in a 10 mile radius.

No checks, no forms, no questions. Nothing!

I've worked with a good number of Septics offshore. When they come to the rig they'd often sit around to discuss (and boast about) what weapons they bought last time home. One OIM would inevitably be hunting through gun sites whenever you walked in on him. Sniper rifles, handguns, semi automatics, you name it, he had it. A good few of them have huge arsenals.

One Toolpusher I knew, had a special building built just for his weapons. He also had 16 pit bulls and 2 rottweilers. Apart from him, none of his family had passports or had even left Louisiana. When his 25 year old son heard he was going to Singapore, he asked if it was in Texas.

It really still is the Wild West in some states.

They have guns for protection.

It's simple really.
