Tip for today : choose your lines carefully...

Just went for a wee lunchtime run on the bike.
Mostly on B and unlisted roads.
Often the middle third of my lane had a covering of slime, many times it had a positive ridge of mud/gravel/grit.
At times the right and left "thirds" had when ranged from a thin coating of slime to a thick well mashed layer of very slippery stuff.
Moving across the lane had to be done very carefully, many times I chose not to take the normal riding line but to hold position on the "third" I was on.
Even gently rolling on/off the throttle can have the rear wheel sliding.
Having this run with daylight encouraged a bit more progress that my morning/evening commute in the dark, I am not sure if daylight helped me or not !?
In saying all this, I have enjoyed the runs this year...all of them, in daylight or dark
