Lockdown 2020
I just got a reminder on my phone that I need to arrange an MOT for my bike. That led me to see how many miles I had covered since the last MOT.
Having not been on the bike since March I shouldn't have been surprised that the bike has only covered just over 600 miles since the end of September last year. I normally do well over 2k miles commuting alone. I started digging around some of my old runs I used to do with Dave and found a few where we did over 400 miles just in a single day!
Good times!

I downed tools at 4 o'clock this afternoon and managed a leasurly run on the bike to ease myself back in. As the last time I was on the bike was March the thermal liners were still in my gear so it was a bit toasty out there but it was good to be out again. Apart from walking the dogs I have bearly left the house since this Covid nighmare began so it was strange being outside for so long.

Re: Lockdown 2020
Reduced annual millage was the reason I sold the bike. Working from home sounds great, but it also removes a reason to get on the bike.
I have done 5k miles in the Caterham in five years of ownership. Not big numbers, but probably more that I did on the bike.

Usage is right down for me also.. lucky If I have pulled 500 miles on the tard since last MOT.
Although I take it into work some days its only a 3 mile run.. I recently bought some Kreiga luggage to help persuad me to drop everything at a weekends notice and get the tent out and on a beach somewhere!

That was the sort of milage I did on my Monster when I had it. The sting in the tail with that was having to replace the timing belts every two years regardless of the milage.haiax0 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 12:56 pm Usage is right down for me also.. lucky If I have pulled 500 miles on the tard since last MOT.

Re: Lockdown 2020
Bike is over 16k miles now, so its bedded in a bit and has had the dreaded Desmo service completed aleady.. The tard is only due to get the routine maintenance for the next 15k and that nothing that Myself or a local garage cant do thankfully.
Love the bike to bits, defo miss some organised runs / new directions to go.

Don't you need 2 wheels to achieve that?
