I've got a set in the garage. When do you need em?
I could take them to the pub tonight, or just pop past the house.

Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) if you can get at it with a ball peen hammer then give it a good few smacks with the ball end and it will rivet over the rounded edges and allow you to chap the allen key into a tight fit and have another go, also the abuse with the hammer will help to loosen the affending bolt.

Izz,
The bolt appear to be made of some sort of metal resembling Camembert cheese so I'm not sure if it will work but I'll give it a go.

it's the shame of being fitted to a Japanese bike , they just sit there and rot :I can't believe it's not butter!

Could also try Araldite-ing an Allen Key into the bolt. You might have to sacrafice said Allen Key, but "it's how it would have wanted to go."

Hi R2D2,
I been wrong before, but can't remember when?
Hi Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian),
Thx for the photo, been pissin myself laughing. Got it set as my desktop background. Yes the top box was on the Gay Blade, I don't give a rats about street cred. Bought it last year when we did a camping trip to Jerez for the GP and on to Portugal. Note that is camping not camp trip

I would resort to screw extractors as a very last resort. They usually break, leaving you in even more shizzle, because you now have a hardened steel blockage.
Izzy's idea sounds alright, the hammering should help, but try using an impact screw driver with an allen key fitting when going for the bolt extraction. Why you could even try the araldite at the same time (never tried that one though).
If you have access to the head, maybe you could hacksaw a groove for a conventional screwdriver head.
Good luck.

Not knowing where the offending screw/bolt is, but a set of vice grips,a shifting spanner, and some WD40 has worked wonders for me in the past.

istead of unscrewing the bolt, try holding it in place and rotating the bike beneath it?

Just to conclude this topic I ended up grining off the head of the offending bolt and removing the remaining threaded part with mole grips.
Grrrrr!!!

Will we see the top box on the CBR?
Suggest you use stainless socket head bolts and/or copper slip on the threads + locking washers, next time round.
