removing brake discs

having just read the article about powder coating, i'm gonna get both my wheels done.
the trouble i forsee is the brake discs.
i'm pretty sure they are not going to want to come off the wheels...
anyone have any tips for undoing undo-able bolts?

Use a decent Allen key(5mm I think), you would be best with one on a socket rather than the conventional L shaped crap ones and give it a wee chap in with a hammer before you try to loosen it

Do you have access to an impact wrench? That always helps.

Get one at Autosave or Gibs tool definatly the best way to go as the are locktighted (eh) in

normal L shaped allen key, bit of pipe over the end to give leverage. be gentle as you apply the pressure.

Impact wrench is the way I'd go.

If the discs have never been off the bike you want to get a bit of heat on the bolt heads first. They will be held in with thread lock. get a small flame blow torch and heat up the bolt. This melts the thread lock. when taking them out dont try and undo them all the way in one go, back them out a couple of turns and then back in agin, in-out-in-out, this stops the TL blocking up the threads and siezing the bolt.
Sod the impact wrench, a good quality allen head socket or T-Bar will suffice.

Perhaps if you were renewing discs, but otherwise like me you may be beginning to wonder is worth the effort?
I would be more concerned that you run the risk that discs may not be perfectly true after rebuild. May I suggest, make sure the machined surfaces where the disc locates is masked off and thoroughly cleaned prior to rebuild.
