TL1000S + poo Brakes

My mates TL1000S has really poor front brakes he has replaced just about everything u can think of & has bled them correctly but still not much pressure...could the caliper be sucking air in somehow?????

Must be summit wrong, TL has pretty good front brakes. They are easy to maintain, but if he doesn't know how, then best take it to a dealer, not worth risking his life.
Without seeing it I would guess he has not bled it properly, but that is only a guess. I would be pleased to have a look if he wants?

Even the place that he bought it from cant cure the problem...sorry should have mentioned that my mate is a mechanic to trade. The dealer has even supplied new disks suspecting that the old ones are warpped but that only made the problem worse.I (only a hunch) suspect that the caliper or calipers are sucking air from somewhere,my brother in law had a similar prob with his ZXR rear caliper. What do u think M8?

Are you sure that the pistons are moving freely?

Have the piston seals been changed? could also be a scored piston. How old is the bike?
And have the brake lines been changed?

System has been changed top to bottom EXCEPT the calipers hence why i think that is where the problem is. The bike is a 1998 (S) I dont know if the piston seals have been changed so that is certainly something to look at although ther is no visible fluid.

So there is no leaking fluid ? he has replaced the discs , the hoses , the lever , the master cylinder and the system has been bled and the pistons move ok ?
is he pulling the lever hard enough ?
Where is your mate a mechanic ? just for reference you know

Good question this guy seldom uses his brakes anyway.
He works in one of the John Clark places.....not sure which one

Brake fluid absorbs moisture, this affects their performance, make sure you are using newly opened decent brake fluid and the atmosphere is dry.
Correct me if im wrong but the water boils at operating temp, vapour in system, system cools reverts to fluid.
My TL's brakes are OK.

If he is not loosing fluid and the hoses are ok yet the lever isn't feeling much pressure I'd suspect it'd be a seal in the master cylinder.
Have the hoses been changed?

EVERYTHING has been changed except the calipers hence why I suspect them but according to the dealer that could not happen !!! We have got to a stage where there is decent pressure but lots of travel in the lever.
