Daytona 900 / Scottoiler Screw UP. Help!

I spent the day fitting a Scottoiler to my 1996 Triumph Daytona 900. The bike has Mikuni carbs and I when fitting the scottoiler damper assembly over the spigot for the vaccuum I broke the spigot off.
I glued it back on with the superglue Scottoiler supplied, but now when I start the bike it conks out when I turn the choke off.
It may be I haven't warmed up the engine enough, but I suspect not. I suspect the carb is drawing air through the broken spigot.
Is there any (preferably black) sealant I could use to seal round the base of the spigot?
I know I'll have to buy a whole set of carbs to replace the broken part. Too pricey!
Thanks for any advice.
