Crash protectors

Post by Lobsterfish »

How easy is it to fit these things? Noting that the main engine bar would be removed.

Also, is there specialist tools that are required for the job or would my standard tool kit be enough?

Would a paddock stand be required?

Every bike can be different, but its generally one bolt out, replaced by the bolt with the crash mushroom on it. Straightforward. ;)

Cool, ta

Just wanted to make sure before I purchase, then pull out the bar and the bike falls in half! ;)

Cheers!

How about torque settings? Haven't got round to fitting mine yet but they replace 2 engine bolts and was told to get the right torque settings when fitting them?

Don't let that scare you though. Measure twice then measeure again before drilling. Drill a pilot hole then use a hole saw and take your time.

The ones for the CBR600RR are a bugger to fit with the road fairing though.

Cant speak for your bike but mine are 44NM(33ft-lb) which never really seems enough and I end up giving it another 1/4 turn anyway :???

There speaks someone from the Landrover school of thought!!.. :I can't believe it's not butter! :I can't believe it's not butter!

I did that with a gas damper...tightened to the required torque..thought...thats not enough...gave it a bit more...SNAP...one damper in 2 pieces...d'oh! :I can't believe it's not butter!
