Problem is,

blowing headlamp bulbs, one a week at least (full beam never goes though), been going on since about a month after I got the bike almost a year ago. Had it into eccosse who changed out the headlights n stuff, but still keep blowing, would put it back to them but they I think are a month for a service atm so I don't want to wait that long before they even think about looking at it.

Theres no oxidizing on the bulbs so doesn't seem like water anywhere, haven't been brave enough to strip the bike to bits yet, only been as far as the front fairings, I've checked the connections that you can actualy manage to get your hands (and these jap guys must have the tiniest hands in the world :eek )into all seem good, the bulbs aint like car bulbs, they cheap s**t bayonets 12v35/35w any ideas?

Would changing the bulb holders out for somthing of a differant type work or would I need to change out fuses and anything else attached as well?

Anyone know if this is a common problem with this bike or just I got a short somewhere.

Have you tride a different supplier for your Bulbs as you might just have bought the first one of carp stock then just kept on buying the rest of them!!!

I would change my supplier & check the bulb holder for excess play ie too much vibration!!

:???

If you do change out your bulb holder you should not need to change your fuse provided you keep to the same power of bulb 12V 35w

A knackered regulator rectifier can do this. If you can get hold a volt meter put it across the battery terminals and rev the bike. If the voltage goes over 15V then the regulator/rectifier is shot and should be replaced ASAP

Got to agree with Big Kneed Al (master of the emergency stop & "stand up" comedian) on this one..Honda are renowned for "reliability" but rectifiers and cam chain tensioners have been problems for years and years.....and..years! :roll

Away to fit a 5th CCT to my Honda!! :roll Thats one a year since I have owned it or one every 3500 miles!!
