New bike owner tips and tricks

Post by ToryBoy »

Hello everybody! New to the site and new to biking! Just got my CBT a couple of months ago and brought a bike from Bikesmart (One of their cheap Chinese import bikes).

I know a lot of people don't like the chinese imports... but for £700 I'm not afraid to drop it or rag it too badly ;)

The bike I brought is the Kaisar Destiny 125CC (http://bikesmart.chinesemotorcycledeale ... id=KS125-3)
and I was just wondering if anyone had any pointers as to what I should look for and what I should make sure of whilst using it.

One main question is the idle speed recommendation... I've adjusted the idle to 2k Revs as it was stalling quite often whilst idling when I picked it up. Having raised it from the 1.5k it was at I'm not having any problems with it now.... what damage, if any, could this adjustment do?

Many thanks,

ToryBoy

P.S. Shout out to Muppet and Co who I met up at CSM whilst picking up the bike... Pointed me in the direction of these forums :)

don't know much about these bikes but if you are turning it up to 2K you are just masking a fueling issue either to rich or too lean, the main thing I'd be worried about if its air cooled would be over heating if sitting in traffic

If it's only a few months old don't mess with it yourself, take it to the shop and get it done on warranty.

You might want to think about deleting your location... or such specifics of your location anyway (assuming you're getting another bike), this forum isn't exactly private. :-)

dedpigin2, I also noticed on the other thread on "Aberdeen bikers rides" some of the photos nearly show the owners house and street and it doesn't take neds long to sus out where they can pick up a particular bike....if they want it......just a caution :eye :eye

Ooops..too late :(

Pretty obvious from whats happened that the bar-stewards use this site to help them nick bikes.

Me thinks its time to start taking this a little more seriously and having a word or too...

Absolute pi**er about the bike :evil

I'm gonna go for a bimble around town with the priest (any fishermen will know what I mean :I can't believe it's not butter! ) They just too damn cocky.

But as for the origional question, in case anyone else reads this for advice, it will effectively stop any engine braking, crank idle up too much on a 125 and you'll hit a bend roll off and head going with no slowing down. Don't want to be jamming brakes on mid corner :eek

I have no doubts the scumbags are on this forum. Image

Okies, I'm off out for a bit, will keep my :eye :eye peeled Image
