I've got an old B M W K100 that I've been restoring (mainly due to boredom and not being arsed with decorating the house).
The front exhaust port on the cylinder head is cracked (it's an inline 4), the head is aluminium.
I know the heat imput would have to be fairly high, and also quite localised, any chances of welding this without warping the cylinder head?
Or would I be better off just trying to track down another one?

Aluminium welding
Aitkens sheet metal (Harbour area) used to do aluminium welding - take the head in and see what they think.
Like you said tho - alot of heat involved might warp the head.
Nothing to lose?

You could give Simon Linford a bell. He owns SAS Precision Engineering in Meigle. If it can be repaired he'll do it. This guy is poo hot and makes flywheels etc for some British Motorcycles.
