I reckon that they would take WAY too long to heat up for normal winter use. . .

Would be very slippy untill they reached the right temperture, which is unlikely to be reached unless carving like a maniac during our winters!

Better getting a all round tyre to last till next summer :(

Someone is bound to have a more technical answer to your question though :2up

I hated my old Bridstone BT020's and was going to change but still had plenty of meet left on the front 014 so bought BT21 for the rear with the plan to change both coe the spring but having changed them two weeks ago I am very happy with the new 21 gives much more confidence and grip than the previous 020's it seems to get to temperature in the cold mornnings quick enough.
I've also been riding CBR1100s bike fitted with Metz Road tecs and have been very impressed with them

For anyone looking for tyres, look for an Ebay dealer called round&black, its a tyre shop down south & they are selling everything from D208's to Bridgy's for around £129-135 a pair.

Even if you get a local place to fit(eg Cuminestown), they are still cheaper than most local outlets.

Yep :2up

I can get cheaper tyres in France for the track but I buy road tyres from local dealers, Rob or if he is closed then Cuminestown in that order, if you don't then at some point in the future you will not be able to get them fitted locally, then what?

I guess everyone makes their own decision on these things; I fit and balance my own tyres so I do not need anyone to fit mine for me.

Re Rob, I will not use him.............its personal, but nothing to do with Rob himself!

Cuminestown is excellent, both for tyres and for MOT's & the guys who run the place are the most friendly & helpful I've ever come across. I support them by giving them my business and recommending them to others.

Ive also bought tyres from the Yamaha place...their prices were comparable to Aberdeen prices, however since I can buy the same make of front & back for the price of a back only in Abd, its a no - brainer, I'll buy mail-order.

May I recommend the Metzler Roadtec. Cracking tyre, especially for road use when its a bit wet and cold.

I must say i do like the RoadTec but the SporTec is better for the twisties but doesn't last so long :(
But on dry roads it can be worth the cost :I can't believe it's not butter!
The roadtec is a good all rounder, its good cold. wet, greasy and on the twisties when it warns up it's a sporty tyre for the blackbird :2up
