I've recently purchased an 06 Tuono and have heard that the oe battery isnt
up to the job. Well what do you know, mines has just given up and died on me.
Put in on my optimate refitted it, but it's not holding a charge.
Can anyone suggest a decent replacement?

Re: Tuono battery
Try the YTZ14S, it fits perfectly and has more cranking power, and while you're at it, you may want to check the charging circuits.
You did not ask for an opinion, but some have reported a problem that the wires from the rectifier are undersized and take a long route. Some have found the connector blocks overheating. The wiring may be a contributory factor to poor charging and premature battery failure.
I hope you enjoy the Tuono

Re: Tuono battery
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.
The bike is fantastic. Was a bit wary of buying an
italian bike exactly because of the poor build quality of
the electrics, but must admit it's a stonking piece of kit.

Re: Tuono battery
I never had a problem with the electrics on mine, but if you have access to a meter you might want to check the charging voltage at tickover and at 4,000 rpm.
