Can someone - anyone explain how this cornering /line of sight malarkie works. I am totally confsued, not a surprise I was blonde after all.
My bro was meant to try and show me today but a mis-understaning with handsignals meant he ended up in Aboyne petrol station with no money whilst I ended up in Ballater Bl00dy men -as you can imagine it was all my fault!
My advice would be relax, dont think about it just do it, enjoy yourself, take it slowly and with time it will get better. Get your confidence up and everything will fit into place.
See if you can get yourself on a couple of novice runs, some of the more experienced peeps that come out are pretty helpful. Mix the two posts above and it's spot on but I did find following the lines of an experienced rider exceptionaly helpful. I know, I know, if he goes off road I follow, but on the novice runs the speeds aren't fast and it taught me a lot about cornering.
Thanks for the replies - I am sure in time I'll get it. Today was only the 4th time on the bike. One day it will all gel and I will wonder why I didnt understand it in the 1st place.
just take your time and build up your confidence , im no expert so im not about to try an tell u how it should be done , if in doubt contact keith henderson for some training

If you are talking about 'limit points' or 'vanishing points', then it's a bit hard to explain in words without an actual corner or diagram. however, you mentioned this was your fourth time out on the bike, so if thats pre-test, simply ask your instructor, he should be able to explain in a manor that you understand, or if it's post test, then see the likes of Kieth Henderson, or even turn up for a few rideouts, the guys will help you out no bother.
sign up for the police run bike safe course and am sure they can help explain and they will take you out for a run and explain as to if they can see if you have anything to inprove the way that you ride .

Just came back from that. Really enjoyed it!
Basically lasts the whole day and you get shown presentations about road etiquette, practical on maintenance, medical side and then a 2+ hour run. Was great trundling along with the polis and would highly recommend the course!
But the I.A.M. observers were a bit dodgy looking.

Can you tell me more about the police course? How to sign up, costs etc?
Mind you not sure I want to put my head above the parapet if you get my meaning.....
