Higher Handlebars

Does anyone know how easy/expensive it is to fit higher bars?

Bike is a 2003 Yamaha Thundercat and I just think it would be so much more comfortable if the bars were about an inch and a half higher and half an inch closer.

Anyone done it?

I think that Brent put a set of bar raisers on his SV1000

You will probably need to get longer throttle and clutch cables though.

There are companys that do kits for a lot of bikes, do a search for bar risers and see what is available .
Yamaha or M&P may even have a kit for the bike

Brent fitted a flat bar conversion to his SV rather than just fitting higher clipons.

I fitted flat renthals to the SV. I used renthal bar clamps because they attach with one bolt per side and that was all the room I had on the top yoke for drilling, I did need a longer throttle cable, the clutch line fitted with some re-routing.

Having seen convertibars later they did look like a better option, no drilling out the top yoke, and you can adjust them once they're fitted, so you could lower them for track days then put them back up for touring.

The flat renthals were good at most speeds but totally fecked the aerodynamics for top speed runs on closed sections of the A90. The other problem was that once my arms and neck were more comfortable I found that my knees were worse. Good for wheelies though, and throwing the bike about was a lot easier.

Buying a Speed triple fixed almost everything! Apart from occasional top speed runs.
