Morning all, would appreciate some advice please...
Got up this morning and decided to take the bike in to work today. The bike has been sat for nearly 2 weeks without being started, I don't own a trickle charger yet so was expecting to find it a little difficult to start this morning. I tried a couple of times before the battery started to sound a little sad, right I thought, let's get you bump started. I go to put it in gear and nothing! Won't go up or down gears, it just sits there in NEUTRAL I kept trying to get it in gear by moving the bike while trying to pop in to gear but still nothing.
In the end I was going to be running late so kitted up in bike gear i resorted to the cage
Why is it stuck in neutral? What can i do to get it working?
I have heared of bikes getting stuck in gear due to the clutch plates sticking after sitting for a while.
But have not heared of a bike being stuck in neutral.?

Quite possible. Could also be a broken gear selector, but less likely methinks.
First of all get the battery charged so you can start it. Possibly the heat and vibration will free it up a bit. If not and you know enough, then take the clutch cover off, tie wrap the clutch lever against the handlebars and tap the plates free from each other. If it's a wet clutch you'll need to drain the oil first.
Seriously??
The bike has not been started for 2 years and you get kitted up in the morning before work and decide it’s a good idea to take it to work??
If I was you I’d be giving it a proper checking over. Tyre condition and pressures, callipers and pistons, suspension, brake fluid, hoses, coolant, oil, petrol etc..
Does sound like you have a clutch problem there though.
