mirrors and MOT's
Is it a legal requirment same as cars to have mirrors mounted? I only have one mirror on the bike (no it didn't come that way) I'm sure i read somewhere ages ago that you either required two or non at all, anyone able to shed any light on this as I got the bike booked in for an MOT next week.

Re: mirrors and MOT's
I once got stopped by two police bikers with no mirrors and nothing was said about it. In any case I'm quite sure you don't need any, best thing to do would be to ask the mechanic before you take it in.

Re: mirrors and MOT's
From what i've read if your bike was fitted with 2 mirrors and you only have one fitted at the time of test it will be classed as a fail. If your bike was fitted with 2 mirrors but you don't have any fitted at the time of the test it will pass. Simply remove the one mirror you have and job done

Agreed, that's what I would do.

Re: mirrors and MOT's
there is no requirement for a bike to have mirrors for an MOT as they are not mentioned in the testers manual
http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m1i00000101.htm.
this is the same manual that the tester uses so its worth reading through before you put your bike in for the test.
the manuals for other classes are here http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/index.htm
if you have recently bought a bike and want to know about its previous test you can check it here
